If I had to start my weight loss journey all over

If I had to start my weight loss journey all over again, let me tell you what I wouldn’t do:

👉 Obsess over the scale.
👉 Cut out carbs like they were the villain of my story.
👉 Try every new “quick fix” diet that popped up on my feed.

Here’s the truth no one told me back then (but I wish they had): It’s not about eating less, restricting your favorite foods, or punishing yourself for enjoying life.

It’s about balance.

And learning about macros is what finally taught me how to fuel my body and reach my goals—without the guilt, the deprivation, or the yo-yo cycles. It’s what helped me lose 75 lbs and start feeling confident in my jeans.

Macros helped me stop seeing food as “good” or “bad” and instead as fuel—something that works for me instead of something I had to constantly fight against.

I will be 40 next year (😱 shocking, I know). Which means for the last 35ish years, I’ve been consumed by my weight. And I realized.. I don’t want to enter another decade consumed by something that matters so little.

Never happy at my smallest. Certainly never happy at my biggest.

Constantly trying to shrink myself to fit into someone else’s idea of who and how I should be.

And you know what I realized? I’m really, really tired of that mentality.

I’m tired of putting so much of my time, energy, and worth into something that honestly doesn’t matter.

And you know what else I realized? You probably are, too.

The things about me that matter.. are the things that have more to do with the size of my heart and the size of my brain than they do the size of my stomach.

How I treat people. The things I’ve accomplished.

Not if I can squeeze into last year’s jeans.

It’s not an easy habit to break. But I’m committed to giving it my all.

Because I know that character > size any day.
